PRESS RELEASE – Spark Systems: Fintech appoints Chief Sustainability Officer on the Road to Sustainability
SINGAPORE, 15 JUN 2022
As environmental and social challenges continue to grow alongside public awareness, companies have increasingly taken on the sustainability challenge. As a call to action, Spark Systems, a fintech company based in Singapore has geared up our Environmental, Social and Governance (“ESG”) efforts.
Spark Systems has appointed Chin Shi Mei as Chief Sustainability Officer with effect from 15 Jun 2022. Shi Mei is also currently serving as Chief Financial Officer of Spark Systems since 2018. She was with PwC previously specializing in audit and assurance. She is also currently an Executive Committee Member and Treasurer of Singapore FinTech Association.
On the ESG front, Spark Systems is also proud to announce that we have signed on as a Partner of the Carbon Pricing Leadership Coalition (CPLC) Singapore. CPLC Singapore is the decarbonisation arm of the Global Compact Network Singapore (GCNS), the local chapter of the United Nations Global Compact. As the leading voice on corporate sustainability, GCNS leverages multi-stakeholder action to advance the stewardship of sustainable business practices.
Wong Joo Seng, CEO of Spark Systems: “Business without concern for the environment is unsustainable. Now more than ever, as the planet reaches breaking point, we all need to care and act. Global warming, CO2 production, single-use plastics, environmental pollution, over-fishing, the wanton destruction of forests and the list goes on. All these need to stop. Mankind needs to find a better way to live and work, for all our sakes.”
