Ashely holds over a decade’s experience within the Equity and FX trading space with both buy-side and sell-side institutions. In her current role as Spark Systems’ Chief Operating Officer, she manages the day-to-day operations of the business; overseeing Business and Product Management, Client Services, Quality Assurance and Network Infrastructure teams.
Prior to joining Spark Systems, Ashley was Chief of Staff Designate and General Manager at regional payments startup MatchMove Pay. She was responsible for kick-starting and building a cross-border money transfer business on MatchMove’s payments-as-a-service platform, and accountable for go-to-market plans for the remittance business’s PnL. As Chief of Staff, she was responsible for Global People Strategy, Compliance and Regulatory Relations, Marketing and Public Relations.
She was also Group Chief Operating Officer of M-DAQ from its early founding days, a start-up managing FX for cross-border e-commerce players which was majority acquired by a major Chinese eCommerce company in November 2015 at a $250 million valuation. She was responsible for product development, operations, business development / partnerships and relationship management with liquidity providers.
Ashley began her career in New York at TD Ameritrade as a Business Analyst in 2000, leading projects relating to Risk Management Controls, Real-Time Margin Requirement, Equity and Equity Options Trading.
She has also worked with some of the world’s leading investment firms in New York. During her time as Vice President of BlackRock, she served in a Product Management role; helping to transform the firm’s fixed income centric trading platform to becoming a strong contender in the FX and Equity trading spaces for their B2B clients. At JP Morgan New York, she was on the eFX Sales and Business Management team to market, onboard and support clients on the JP Morgan eTrading platform.
Ashley graduated with a Bachelor of Arts and Social Sciences in Economics and Statistics from the National University of Singapore, before obtaining her MBA from Central Michigan University in the U.S.
